Failure to comply will result in disqualification. Post-race disqualifications do not require inspection of additional karts. All karts must be available for inspection immediately following a feature event. Top five finishing karts are to immediately report to the inspection area. Failure to immediately report to the designated inspection area by stopping in your pit area, or any other pit area will result in immediate disqualification. However, if you are competing in more than one racing event for that evening, there will be a designated area to place your kart awaiting inspection, if using a different kart. If using the same kart for an additional class event, and that kart requires a technical inspection for a previous class, it will be examined per each class rules that it was required inspection. Compliance with rules will be determined by the procedures, equipment, and tools adopted and utilized by the raceway. Official weight is per track provided scales. Competitors are urged to check compliance against such standards before entering into competition. Contact a technical inspector or the pit steward prior to the racing program start time if you wish to have your kart checked against any track equipment.
Note: People cheating :
o 1st offense - loose that nights points and money
o 2nd offense- loose that nights points and money and all accumulated points from the beginning of the season.
Annual Driver Licensing and Kart Registration
DRIVER REGISTRATIONS There is a registration fee, per driver or per kart if competing in more than one class; that must be paid at the time of registration. This fee is non-refundable. One kart can be driven by several different drivers, as long as each driver is registered. And the kart is registered for each class separately.
If you are going to compete in two or more classes, you must pay the one time registration fee for all classes in which you will be competing. You must also pay the pit admission for each multiple class that you intend to compete in per race day.
There will be no additional fee for driver licensing. Each driver and substitute driver will need to be registered separately. No unregistered drivers will be permitted to compete. No exceptions will be granted. Annual registrations can be done prior to the start of the season or at the pit entrance upon entering the track each day of competition.
Any driver that attempts to compete without being registered will automatically forfeit all money and points earned that day.
KART NUMBERING All karts must be numbered. No fractions or more than three digits will be allowed unless otherwise pre-approved. Numbers will be assigned on a first come first served paid basis. Duplicate numbers are not allowed. We will not allow more than two of the same number in the same class even when differentiating letters are used. It is very difficult for the scorers to properly score races where several karts have the same number (or similar numbers). Remember this when considering a number for your kart. A number will be displayed on each side panel no less than 6 "high. A Solid Color number no less than 4" high will be displayed on the drivers right side of the nosepiece and rear of the kart. Numbers must be visible from 50 feet.
LETTERING All lettering and numbering is to be neatly arranged and appear to be professionally painted and printed. Numbers must be legible and the style should be easy to read from the grandstand area. The color of the numbers should contrast well with the color of the kart. Scorers maintain the right to request changes to the appearance of the numbers on a kart to aid in scoring. No spray painted lettering or numbers. If your number is not properly displayed on your kart or is not readable from the scorers tower, you will not be scored. NO rude or profane messages will be permitted. These must be covered or removed prior to entry onto the track. Failure to comply will result in being asked to leave the premises.
Race Day Check In
Each day of racing, drivers are required to register with the pit steward or his/her representative at the designated check-in area in the pits. This should be done as soon as you arrive at the track.
In order to be lined up according to the regular lineup procedure for the qualifying events, the driver must be checked-in at least fifteen minutes prior to the officially posted start time for the days events. While any member of the pit crew may check-in the driver, it is ultimately the drivers responsibility to make sure that he/she is checked-in for that days events.
Any driver that checks-in after the cut-off time will be allowed to participate in a qualifying event, but will start at the end of his/her qualifying event. Drivers must check-in regardless of when they arrive at the track. If for some reason a driver change is required prior to the qualifying event, this change must be declared to the pit steward.
The driver that drives the kart in the qualifying event does not have to drive the kart in the feature. However, both drivers must be a registered paid driver. In the event of an injury to the person who qualified the kart the injury must be declared per Competitor Accident Policy under General Regulations. If at any time a substitute driver will compete, the pit steward or pit entrance personnel must be informed. Points will still be awarded if a substitute driver is not available. (See Points System)
Starter and Flag Regulations
OFFICIAL STARTER All practice and competition activities on the track are under the immediate control of the starters and other track and pit entrance flagmen. All competitors shall adhere to their directions. Failure to do so at any time may result in disqualification.
INITIAL STARTS - All initial starts for heats and features will be double file. Absolutely no passing until your kart reaches the cone. The head starter will indicate by waiving the green flag that the race is starting if the pole sitter karts are even. In order to be scored, a kart must be on the track and take the initial start. Once one lap has been completed, no additional karts will be allowed on the track. However, we will allow two bubble karts to compete in the main event if two qualifying karts leave the track before one lap is completed. These bubble karts must be lined up and ready to compete in case such a situation exists. All bubble karts will start at the back of the field, and the rest of the field of karts will advance.
The pole sitter will set a slow but steady pace with all the other karts maintaining the same pace until the green flag is indicated. Karts should be nose to tail and side by side until the green flag is waived.
Jr. Purple karts will start the race from a dead stop. All restarts will be started the same way.
COMPLETE RESTARTS If the head starter calls off an initial start or a caution comes out before the first lap is scored, it will result in a complete restart. If the start was called off because head starter did not like the formation, all karts should return to their original starting spot. You will know its a complete restart because there will be an official with a sign indicating COMPLETE RESTART. If after a second attempt to start the race is waived off, the head starter has the discretion to move one or both front row starters to the rear of the field if he feels either driver is failing to properly obey the head starter. Front row drivers must remember that while the pole sitter sets the pace; the head starter starts the race. Any kart that exits the track and then returns before the restart must start behind all the other karts.
DELAWARE RESTARTS - Restarts are double file until the halfway point of the race has been reached for all karts, EXCEPT for the leader. The leading kart is allowed to sit out in front of the second and third place kart. All other karts will double up through the field.
If there are more than three cautions or if the head starter deems it necessary for safety reasons, or time restraints, the restart may become single file before halfway. The head starter will indicate this by giving the drivers the single file sign with his arm. All restarts after the halfway point of the race will be single file. Lapped karts are placed into the lineup in the place they were running in when the Yellow or Red flag came out. A driver of a lapped kart may elect to move to the end of the field if he or she is uncomfortable starting where he/she otherwise should line up. The driver should indicate this to the track official by motioning to the rear.
Notice: The lead kart may restart the race at any point from when the lead kart enters the area indicated on the track where it is painted between turn three and turn four. Watch the lead kart on restarts after they have entered the indicated area; however, the race may be stopped on the back stretch if a kart jumps the start or if a kart is disabled. No jumping will be allowed. You will be docked two positions for every position you jump before the green flag comes out.
REPAIRS Karts may only re-enter a race under a yellow flag. Drivers wishing to re-enter the race must wait to be waved onto the track by the pit steward. Due to insurance purposes, No karts are allowed to re-enter the race track while the race is underway. If any mechanical failure happens on the race track, you must get out of your kart and push it off the track. However, if you stall you will be started again as long as you do not do anything to fix the kart.
Explanation of Flags
GREEN FLAG Signifies the start of an event. All karts must remain in line until receiving the green. Green may be followed immediately by yellow for complete restarts at the discretion of the starter. On caution lap restarts, racing will resume when the green flag and/or light is displayed.
YELLOW FLAG Signifies track is not clear. Karts must decrease speed, get into single file and remain in single file until told to double up, if applicable. NO passing is allowed under caution. Violators are subject to penalty during and after event. Drivers must pay attention to the track official. Continued failure to move into the directed position or failure to allow another driver into position may result in a driver being placed to the end of the field. If a driver disobeys official directions, he/she will not be scored for the remainder of the race. CONTINUED FAILURE TO OBEY THE ON-TRACK OFFICIALS LINEUP INSTRUCTIONS WILL RESULT IN A BLACK FLAG.
Track officials will determine which karts, if any, initiated the need for the yellow flag. These karts will be placed to the rear of the field. Any kart that comes to a complete stop on the track (involved in the caution) will be placed to the rear of the field. Any kart that exits the track and returns under yellow will line up behind all the other karts.
If you cause three cautions during a heat race you will be disqualified. However you will be allowed to run the feature or qualifying B-Main event. If you cause three cautions during the feature event, you will be dis-qualified, however you will receive last place points.
RED FLAG Signifies automatic halting of race. All karts must STOP! The race is scored according to last lap completed under green. Failure to come to a complete stop may result in being disqualified.
BLACK FLAG A waving black flag DOES indicate immediate disqualification. If you get the black flag waved at you immediately exit the race track. If you receive the black flag you are no longer being scored, and you will not receive any points or money for that event. In addition to, if you fail to comply with the black flag after three attempts, and do not exit the track, you will be subjected fines and additional penalties. At this time, a driver will be considered to be trespassing and may face criminal action.
As for any other driver involved in the black flag incident, you may be given back your position you were running before the incident. If it is unknown as to who was at fault and it caused a caution, no black flag will be given and all karts involved in that caution will be put to the back of the line. No retaliation will be tolerated, as you may be subjected to the black flag yourself.
BLACK AND YELLOW FLAG Signifies an equipment violation. You must leave the track and repair the kart. The kart may return to competition upon remedy and approval by track officials.
BLUE AND YELLOW FLAG Signifies competitor being lapped. Karts must move to the outside, as directed by the flagman.
WHITE FLAG Signifies one lap remains before any re-starts or one lap remaining in the race.
CHECKERED FLAG Signifies completion of event. Finishing positions decided according to distance traveled regardless if kart takes checkered.
Lineup Procedure
Lineups, length of heat races and number of karts qualifying will be posted at the pit board. This will be posted prior to the days events. Check the board for your starting spot and also for the order of the heats and feature events. It is the drivers responsibility to know when he or she is supposed to be lined up. A driver should watch what class is currently lined up and judge when he or she should be getting ready to race.
Failure to be in the heat lineup area when the heat goes on the track will result in a driver loosing his/her starting spot and being forced to start at the end of the heat. If a driver arrives at the heat lineup area after the heat has been sent to the track, the driver must follow the track lineup persons instructions on when they are to enter the track. If time permits before the head starter gives the green flag, the pit steward will motion the driver onto the track. Once the race has been started, a driver will not be permitted on the track. Failure to obey the pit stewards instructions will result in an immediate disqualification for the race.
HEAT LINEUP All drivers who register prior to the cutoff time will draw a number that will be used to determine their starting position in the heats. After the cutoff time, the pit steward or other designated pit official will determine the total number of karts registered for the day for each class and determine the number of heats that will be run. The actual lineup will be determined by starting with the driver with the lowest draw getting the pole in the first heat, the second lowest draw will get pole in the second heat, etc., followed by filling in the outside pole for each heat then working back through each row of the heats in the same manner. Any driver that arrives after the cut-off time will be placed at the end of one of the heats at the pit stewards discretion with an effort to maintain a similar number of karts in each heat. There will be eight (8) laps per each heat race.
B - MAIN FEATURE - If there are more than 16 karts qualifying for the feature per class, per night, there will be a B main feature. Karts will qualify during regular heat races. However, karts that did not qualify for the A Main Feature will have the option to qualify during this B Main feature. This feature will be 10 laps and will run before intermission.
A - MAIN FEATURE LINEUP - Only 16 karts will compete in the A-main Feature. The feature lineup will be determined based on how you finished in your heat race. Also known as a heads up start, with exception of the implementation of the previous feature winner handicap for the feature lineup, last weeks feature winner will start the feature event at mid-pack, provided that the driver qualifies for that position or better, otherwise the driver will start the feature where they qualify according to the heat races. This system will not be used for Mid-Season or Season Championship Nights or Special Events. Any B-main feature karts will start at the end of the feature lineup. Feature events will be fifteen (15) laps per event.
Points System and Driver Changes
POINT AWARDS Points at Allegany Memorial Speedway are earned by and awarded to a driver, not a kart. Each kart should have a primary driver declared. A race team may share driving duties between two or more drivers (as long as each driver is registered), during the season, but each driver will earn points separately. At the end of the season, Point Championships and other point awards are presented to a driver, not a kart.
Points are not transferable from one driver to another if a team changes primary drivers during the season. They also cannot be transferred from one division to another if a driver changes racing divisions. 2010 points will start on Friday May 7, through the completion of the season. No points will be transferred to a different class. If you change classes you will accumulate new points for the new class; unless the track and parents deem it necessary for that driver to change classes.
DRIVER CHANGES AND SUBSTITUTE DRIVERS Any changes from the driver registered to drive for the days event that are not approved by the pit steward or pit office personnel are strictly prohibited. Failure to obtain pre-approval will result in a loss of all points and purse for that day and may also result in further point and or monetary penalties.
As stated above, points are awarded to the driver not to the kart. However, it is also realized that there are certain situations that may arise whereby a driver cannot compete. Therefore, in these situations, a provision can be made to allow a substitute driver to compete in your place for two events, per class, per season. There will not be any discrimination on substitute drivers due to age or experience. If you find yourself in this situation, please consult the pit steward.
POINT SYSTEM Points will be awarded to the driver as follows:
Driver Finishes: Winner 50 pts.
2nd 45 pts.
3rd 42 pts.
4th 40 pts.
5th 39 pts.
down to 16th decreased by one point.

In the case of an unusable kart the driver IS NOT allowed to borrow another kart to compete in the feature.
There will be double points awarded at Mid-Season Championships and Season Championships. There will also be points awarded for the heat races for these two events only. Points will be awarded as follows:
HEAT FEATURE
